Liberty: The Next Stage: Best Festival Practice Seminar Programme – Attitude is Everything works with GDF Diversivents to assist other festivals to improve access for disabled artists and audiences.
Liberty Festival returns again once more to Trafalgar Square between 1 and 7pm on Saturday 2 nd September 2006! Both Artsline and Attitude is Everything teams will be in the display area, so come and say hello. Liberty Festival is now established as the UK's most accessible outdoor festival. With four years of experience, the production of comprehensive event management plans and a track record of successful event delivery, much has already been achieved. The Liberty Advisory Group is keen to share this practice with other festival promoters across the UK.
Artsline's Attitude is Everything project presents: Liberty: The Next Stage seminar programme on ‘Best Festival Practice' with GDF Diversivents, producers of this festival. Funded by the Arts Council England, The seminar programme is built around the Liberty Festival 2006 and designed to share experience and lessons from operating the event over the last 4 years. We have 10 FREE places on this seminar programme for representatives of public and commercial outdoor festivals. The programme is aimed at promoters who are already demonstrating good practice but want Best Practice. Speakers already confirmed are: GDF Diversivents, Owen Jones from Guilfest and Jos Colover from Big Green Gathering. More are to be announced.
The programme begins on Friday 1 st September with a 3-hour seminar programme in Room 3, GLA, City Hall, Queens' Walk, More London SE1 between 1 – 4pm. It continues between 1 and 6pm on the following day at Liberty Festival itself with delegates being shown around the Trafalgar Square site as the excitement of the festival unfolds. The day ends with a 2-hour networking session 6-8pm in an accessible venue t.b.c. near to Trafalgar Square. Delegates can share their experiences of the day in an informal and chilled out atmosphere.
In early November, delegates will be invited to the final seminar where they can share their progress on adopting Liberty Festival's model of Best Festival Practice at their own festival. Details will be confirmed after the September seminar.
Artsline's Attitude is Everything project, are key members of the Liberty Advisory Group. We have managed Disability Equality Training, Access Auditing and recruiting disabled stewards over the past 4 years. Our role is to make the music industry aware of its obligations under the Disability Discrimination Act by implementing a Charter of Best Practice in music venues, clubs and festivals across the UK. The seminar builds on our unparalleled expertise in developing access for disabled audiences, employees, musicians and DJ's.
