Every year, we recruit around 45 Deaf and disabled people to volunteer at a number of outdoor camping festivals. We are always looking for new volunteers who would like to assist us and our partner festivals in providing great customer service to Deaf and disabled customers. Whether you are a seasoned festival-goer, or you have never been to a camping festival, we want you to get in touch!
For a great idea of what we get up to, check out this video from Reading Festival 2014, with interviews from customers, staff and Attitude is Everything volunteers.
Who can volunteer?
You can apply to volunteer if:
- You identify as being a Deaf or disabled person
- You are aged over 18
- You are resident within the UK
Where can I volunteer?
Every year we recruit volunteers for Latitude, Reading and Leeds, and this year we are also recruiting volunteers for Download. We normally also take volunteers to Glastonbury, but the festival is taking a year off in 2018.
Volunteers on our mailing list have the chance to apply to all of these festivals before the general public.
What roles are available?
Information Tent Volunteers
Our volunteers assist us in stewarding the accessible campsites at Reading, Leeds, Latitude and Download. We assist arriving customers, monitor facilities and run an Information Tent providing festival info and selling merchandise.
Oxfam Viewing Platform Stewards
Our volunteers are signed up to be Oxfam Stewards at Reading and Leeds, joining teams that manage viewing platforms across all stages.
Festival Volunteering 2019
We will publish details of our volunteering opportunities in early 2019.
If you want to ensure you are one of the first to find out about our opportunities, sign up to the mailing list and select “Volunteer/Registered Mystery Shopper
