Download gets Gold!

We are thrilled to award Download Festival Gold, the highest level on our Charter of Best Practice, for the outstanding commitment they’ve made to ensuring the festival is as accessible as possible for Deaf and disabled attendees.

The iconic rock festival, who we have been working in partnership with for over 15 years, joins Glastonbury and Reading at Gold, as only the third event with over 80,000 capacity to have achieved this high standard.

Things Download have provided to make their festival more accessible include:

  • Viewing platforms at every stage
  • BSL interpretation of performances
  • An accessible shuttle bus service
  • Accessible campsite with over 50 electric wheelchair charging points
  • And much more!

Gideon Feldman, Attitude is Everything’s Head of Programmes and Business Development said: “The commitment Download have shown to accessibility and inclusion clearly sits at the heart of the festival. Download deserves to be recognised for the outstanding work they have shown this year and over the past years."

Ian Donaldson, Access Planning and Delivery Manager at Download said: “For Download 2018 we set ourselves a target to ensure that we did everything within our powers to give our disabled customers the best experience that we could. To receive this recognition from Attitude is Everything is great achievement for the Access Team and whole Download team, but most importantly for the Download disabled customers who come back year after year.”
