JOBS: Artist Engagement and Communications Assistant

In April 2016 we’ll be launching an Artist Engagement project to help us elicit support for our campaigns from prominent musicians. Esmée Fairbairn have awarded us funding to build on the success of our #MusicWithoutBarriers and Club Attitude campaigns, so we’re looking for two outstanding individuals to join the Attitude is Everything team.

We are seeking a freelance Artist Engagement and Community Coordinator and part-time Communications Assistant to work with us for 2 years. Both roles aim to improve our:

  • Reach and awareness: To harness the power of artists influence and reach in order to voice the requirements of Deaf and disabled music fans more effectively, raising awareness of the barriers they face and how to overcome them
  • Influence: To utilise artist support to campaign for realistic changes, such as tickets being sold online, or venues to display access information on their website.
  • User engagement: For AiE to become even more user-led by enabling disabled music fans to engage artists and elicit support for better live music accessibility.

Artist Engagement and Community Coordinator
Freelance, 1 day a week
£150 per day 

This freelance position will be responsible for maintaining and developing new partnerships with high-profile artists, planning campaigns, and recruiting and training Deaf and disabled volunteers to engage with artists.

We are looking for someone who has proven contacts in the music industry with artists, labels, promoters and artist management, and has a track record in developing and managing artist-led campaigns. They will preferably have experience in recruiting, training and managing volunteers.

Communications Assistant
Part-time, 2 days a week
£19,886 (pro-rata)

We are looking for a dedicated Communications Assistant to support our busy team, with a particular focus on sharing support from our Artist Engagement project. This is a flexible role based in our office near Kings Cross, London. The successful candidate will have a passion for live music and preferably some knowledge of accessibility.

The role will involve writing copy for and updating the website, mailing lists and social media channels. The position would suit an applicant with strong administrative skills, marketing experience and enthusiasm for engaging supporters through social networks.
