Say hello to Natalie South, our new Grassroots Project Manager!
Posted on 21.04.2017
We’re very excited to introduce our new Grassroots Project Manager, a new position funded by the Paul Hamlyn Foundation to help us create a specific programme dedicated to improving access to small, grassroots music venues across the UK, for the very first time.
My name is Natalie and I am just finishing my first week as Grassroots Project Manager for Attitude is Everything, getting to know the team and settling into the role.
Before joining Attitude is Everything, I have worked in the charity sector for around 3 years, most recently for Nesta, a social innovation charity. I have always had an interest in live music and events, and I first found out about Attitude is Everything when I started mystery shopping for them, and I have also volunteered with Attitude at Leeds Festival for the past 4 years.
I was interested in the role of Grassroots Project Manager as it is a great opportunity to help grassroots venues to improve their access for Deaf and disabled people, which can open up these venues to a whole new audience. I have had mixed experiences when attending grassroots venues, so it will be really rewarding to help them improve.
I’m looking forward to helping what may be seen as unlikely venues become as accessible as they can be, and also discovering new grassroots venues for me to visit!
