The Gloves Are On - The Film

In 2016, we worked with Independent Venue Week to produce The Gloves Are On tour, headlined by acclaimed artist Kris Halpin, who developed new music and performed using Imogen Heap’s pioneering Mi.mu gloves, a wearable instrument that allows electronic music to be modified and controlled by the movements of the wearer’s body.

Funded by the National Lottery via Arts Council England, the tour was one of the first outings of the gloves, which enabled Kris to keep making music when he needed a technological solution for his changing performance needs. He was able to access the gloves through partnership with Drake Music, a charity who use new technologies to open up disabled people’s access to making music.

Now, Kris has been nominated for a National Lottery award for the tour. Vote for him here before 27 July.

Find out more about the people, the technology and the music, in this new documentary film about the project:

This film was commissioned by Attitude is Everything and funded by the PRS Foundation. It was filmed, directed and produced by Lee Cogswell of Mono Media Films.
