Outstanding Attitude Awards 2016

We created the Outstanding Attitude Awards in 2016 to reward innovation, creativity and imagination in approaches to breaking down barriers for Deaf and disabled people at live music and outdoor arts events.

The 120+ venues and festivals on our Charter of Best Practice were invited to apply, and entries were judged by:

  • Mark Butler, Head of Venue Operations, Roundhouse
  • Paul Reed, General Manager, Association of Independent Festivals
  • James Hanley, Senior Staff Writer, Music Week
  • Hannah McKearnen, Blogger and Attitude is Everything volunteer

The winners were:

Reading Festival - user-led British Sign Language interpretation service

Just So Festival - inclusive programme

The Albany - video-based travel information

Colston Hall - Fast Forward Festival

Motorpoint Arena Nottingham - British Sign Language interpretation service for all new events
