Our Charter of Best Practice Toolkit, the premier guide to making live music accessible, is made available to all venues and festivals working towards joining our Charter of Best Practice. Additionally, it is now available to the general public to purchase as a high-quality, printed resource.
The Toolkit was created in order to bring together all of the knowledge, guidance and best practice advice developed by Attitude is Everything since we began working with the live music industry in 2000. The guidance it contains has been used by a wide range of venues and festivals to improve the accessibility of live music across the UK, leading to big increases in the number of disabled customers attending live music events.
With Unum’s support, we have been able to design and print a hard copy of the resource. This means that we can make it available it to sections of the industry that we are not currently working with, as well as offer Charter venues and festivals the opportunity to have a professionally designed toolkit for staff to refer to. This allows us to increase the reach of this valuable resource in order to create further positive change within the live music industry.
Our CEO, Suzanne Bull MBE, thanks Unum for their role in making this possible:
Unum funding the publication of our Charter Toolkit is a really important moment for our organisation, enabling us to further our reach across the UK’s live music industry and champion best practice accessibility for Deaf and disabled people. We very much value the support that Unum has given us to date, and I hope that we can develop our partnership further in the years to come.
The Charter of Best Practice Toolkit is a comprehensive, high-quality printed resource covering all aspects of accessibility at live music venues, festivals and events. The Toolkit costs £50 and is available now; for more information and to purchase please contact email@example.com, or by using the contact form on the left.
Find out what some Toolkit users had to say about it:
Attitude is Everything’s Charter Toolkit is comprehensive, easy to follow and provides clear and helpful guidance, allowing us as an organisation to work together to identify areas that need development.
Greenwich and Docklands International Festival
The guidance is laid out in a way that allowed us to think through events in sections and ensure that at each juncture with the public we were being as accessible as possible, allowing us to see where there might be gaps and improve our practice to consolidate provision across a variety of locations.
Band on the Wall
The charter toolkit has been very useful in providing the information and processes to ensure the Band on the Wall is accessible both physically and attitudinally. It has led to development within our policies and helped the quality of customer service training for all staff. We continually recommend it to other music venues.
